Dr. Amr Talaat, Minister of communications and Information Technology, held a meeting with Hakan gevrel, Deputy Minister of foreign trade of Sweden, during which they discussed ways to encourage Swedish investments in the Egyptian ICT sector, and cooperation in the fields of digital capacity building and cybersecurity. This was in the presence of tippo taurinen, Sweden’s ambassador to Spain.
This came on the sidelines of the participation of Dr. Amr Talaat in the activities of the exhibition and the World Mobile conference in Barcelona, Spain.
During the meeting, it was pointed out that there are leading Swedish companies working in the Egyptian ICT sector. The possibility of benefiting from the young Egyptian digital competencies in Swedish projects was also discussed.
The meeting was attended by Eng.Mohamed Nasr, managing director and CEO of Telecom Egypt.
Dr. Talaat also met with Mr. Youssef tayoub, CEO of Accenture Accenture group for global operations specializing in business consulting and services, as the group provides consulting, strategic, technological and operational services through a wide global network of offices, service centers and innovation centers. The group is present in more than 200 cities in 51 countries to serve its customers in more than 120 countries.
The meeting discussed the state’s efforts to encourage international companies to invest in Egypt in the field of outsourcing in the light of Egypt’s digital strategy for the development of the outsourcing industry, where opportunities for joint cooperation in the field of outsourcing were discussed.
Dr. Amr Talaat also discussed with Anand athria, CEO and general manager of Tejas Tejas Indian networks company operating in the field of telecommunications and manufacturing of telecommunications equipment and equipment; the company’s future plans and opportunities for cooperation in the manufacture of telecommunications equipment and digital capacity building. This was in the presence of Eng.Mohamed Nasr, managing director and CEO of Telecom Egypt, Eng. Mohamed elfawy, executive vice president for technical affairs at Telecom Egypt, and Arnob Roy, Co-Founder, Chief Operating Officer and CEO of Tejas.
The meetings were attended by Samah Aziz, supervisor of the Central Department of international relations at the Ministry of communications and Information Technology.
In a related context, Dr. Amr Talaat attended the opening session of the World Mobile conference MWC 2024, which was held under the title “open portal – The Art of what is possible”, where the session discussed developments related to communications technology, fifth generation technologies, generative artificial intelligence, connecting machines and applications through artificial intelligence, industrial internet, and future visions to build a digital future and a connected world, with the participation of a number of industry leaders at the global level.
MWC 2024 is the most prominent annual global event for the mobile phone and technology industries globally and is organized by the international mobile network Association GSMA; with the participation of decision makers, senior government officials, experts, officials of international organizations, major companies operating in the field of mobile phone and its devices, specialists in related technologies, and pioneers of the mobile phone industry from around the world.
