Remittances from Egyptians abroad decreased by 30%, amounting to $10 billion

The Central Bank of Egypt announced a decrease in remittances from Egyptians abroad by 30.8% to $22.1 billion
Remittances from Egyptian expatriates working abroad declined during the fiscal year 2022-2023, by 30.8% on an annual basis, according to data from the Central Bank of Egypt regarding the economy’s transactions with the outside world,

It appears that remittances from Egyptians working abroad declined during the last fiscal year, to $22.1 billion, compared to $31.9 billion in the previous fiscal year.
Egypt was ranked fifth globally in expatriate remittances amounting to $32 billion during the year 2021, with an annual increase of about $10.1 billion during the previous years.

Egyptians abroad face many problems in purchasing tickets from Egypt and bank transfers in dollars, as reports indicate that Egyptian banks deliver dollar transfers in Egyptian pounds.
